Morocco: Pratt & Whitney inaugurates MidParc plant, strengthening its aerospace industrial footprint

Morocco continues to solidify its position in the global aerospace industry. U.S. engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney officially inaugurated its new industrial facility at MidParc, in Nouaceur, on April 21, 2026—marking a key milestone in its industrial expansion strategy.

A strategic investment for the sector

With a total investment of $76 million, including 25% support from the Moroccan government, the facility reinforces the country’s growing aerospace industrial base. Through its Canadian subsidiary, the group has also committed approximately MAD 715 million to the project.

Covering 12,000 m², the plant will manufacture high-precision metallic components for several engine platforms, including:

  • PT6
  • PW300 / PW500
  • GTF engines

At full capacity, the site is expected to produce between 200 and 300 units annually.

Gradual ramp-up after slight delay

Originally scheduled to be operational in 2025, the project experienced a slight delay, with full operations now expected במהלך 2026. Ahead of the official launch, about 80% of the machinery had already been installed at a temporary site, allowing early-stage production readiness.

At the same time, the company initiated a recruitment drive in partnership with the Institut des métiers de l’aéronautique to build a skilled workforce aligned with industry requirements.

Skills transfer and value chain upgrade

A key component of the project is the transfer of expertise from the group’s Canadian and European entities to its Moroccan operations. This process is already underway and is expected to accelerate the development of local capabilities in high-value manufacturing segments.

The facility is projected to create between 200 and 250 direct jobs, with broader spillover effects across the local industrial ecosystem, particularly in subcontracting and specialized services.

MidParc as a strategic aerospace hub

The choice of MidParc further cements Morocco’s role as a regional aerospace hub. Located near Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, the zone offers strong logistical and operational advantages for aerospace manufacturers.

With this new plant, Pratt & Whitney strengthens both its global production capacity and its footprint in Africa, at a time when supply chains are being reconfigured for resilience and competitiveness.

A strong signal for Morocco’s attractiveness

Beyond the investment itself, the project sends a clear message to international investors: Morocco is positioning itself as a competitive destination for complex industrial activities, combining stability, technical expertise, and modern infrastructure.

The full operational rollout in 2026 will serve as a real-world test of the country’s ability to attract further high-value aerospace projects in the years ahead.
