Gabon – Aviation Certification: ANAC successfully assesses ARCTICSKY AIRLINES staff before the launch of its operations

As part of the certification process for ARCTICSKY AIRLINES, the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) conducted, from July 15 to 25, 2026, an evaluation mission of the theoretical knowledge of aeronautical regulations (Air Law) of the company’s flight and technical staff.

This operation is in compliance with the provisions of the Gabonese Air Regulations (RAG), which require all personnel performing a function essential to civil aviation safety on board an aircraft registered in the Gabonese Republic to hold an aeronautical certificate issued or validated by the ANAC (National Civil Aviation Authority). Obtaining this certificate is conditional upon passing an examination covering knowledge of air law and applicable regulations.

The mission aimed to verify the level of mastery of regulatory requirements by the company’s future operational staff before the commencement of its activities under Gabonese registration.

The assessments covered all personnel categories subject to these regulatory requirements, namely pilots, flight engineers, and aircraft maintenance engineers. All personnel involved in obtaining an aeronautical qualification were thus evaluated.

To accommodate the company’s operational structure, the examinations were conducted at two main operating bases. The first session took place in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, where pilots, flight engineers, and maintenance technicians assigned to that base were assessed. The second session was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and involved the same categories of personnel working at that location.

According to ANAC, the choice of these two sites made it possible to cover all the staff concerned while respecting operational constraints and the geographical distribution of the company’s teams.

The examinations were conducted under conditions deemed satisfactory, in accordance with the applicable assessment procedures. Individual results were recorded in examination reports and marking sheets prepared for this purpose.

Following this mission, the ANAC (National Civil Aviation Authority) considers that the objectives set have been fully achieved. The results obtained are generally satisfactory and demonstrate a good grasp of regulatory requirements by the personnel assessed. They confirm that the pilots, flight engineers, and maintenance technicians possess the theoretical knowledge required to perform their duties on aircraft registered in Gabon, in strict compliance with national and international aviation safety standards.
