Aeronautical pavement management: 22 experts serving 6 UGAACO member countries
The regional seminar organized by the Union of Airport Managers of Central and West Africa (UGAACO), in partnership with the Société des Aéroports du Faso (SAFA), on the management of airport runways concluded this Friday, August 7, in Ouagadougou.
Over five days, this training session brought together experts from several countries to discuss best practices in the sustainable management of airport infrastructure, with the shared goal of strengthening the skills of African airport managers.
It provided the 22 participants from six countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Congo Brazzaville, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, and Togo) with a high-level technical exchange on the theoretical aspects and best practices related to the preservation, maintenance, and modernization of airport infrastructure.
In his closing remarks, the Executive Secretary of UGAACO, Comrade Simon KABORE, commended the instructors’ commitment and the active participation of the various delegations. He emphasized that all participants successfully completed the training modules, thus gaining a valuable opportunity to deepen their knowledge of airport pavement management.
The Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Mobility, and also Chair of the Board of Directors of SAFA, Comrade Kiswendsida Alice OUEDRAOGO, reaffirmed Burkina Faso’s commitment to the development of modern, safe, and efficient airport infrastructure. She conveyed the Ministry’s gratitude to the UGAACO Executive Secretariat for its renewed confidence in Burkina Faso and the Société des Aéroports du Faso (SAFA) through the organization of this training session. She also paid tribute to the instructors for the quality of their teaching, congratulated the participants for their diligence throughout the training, and encouraged them to make good use of the skills they had acquired.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates of completion to the various participants, in recognition of their commitment and dedication throughout the training session.
